Nestled on historic Route 66 in Arcadia, Oklahoma, Chicken Shack is the kind of place that reminds you what community feels like. Owner Ed Gouchenour has spent years building more than a restaurant — he’s built a gathering place where neighbors become family.
When Ed heard about the Stacks for Sacks campaign, he didn’t offer cash. He offered something more personal: a hot meal. For every sack David Stone Jr. records this season, Ed is personally donating a meal to a veteran or first responder who’s given so much to protect the communities Chicken Shack calls home.
David Stone Jr. plays defense on the field. Ed Gouchenour plays offense in the kitchen. Together, every sack translates directly into nourishment for the warriors who need it most.
Men and women who served this nation deserve more than a handshake. Ed’s meals are a tangible expression of gratitude from an Oklahoman who doesn’t take their sacrifice for granted.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics run toward the chaos so the rest of us don’t have to. Chicken Shack of Arcadia is running toward them with something warm and real.
This is Route 66 generosity at its finest. A small-town owner with a big heart using his craft to honor the community that built him up.
