At RECON-nect, your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services.
We may collect personal information such as your name, email address, and device data when you interact with our site or app.
Certain features may require additional information to enhance your experience or fulfill specific services.
When you use features that require them, we also collect the content you provide through those features, including the messages you write, the audio of voice calls you start, and the text transcripts of those calls.
We collect information from your mobile device and/or computer, including the type of device, IP address, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
The App can hold a spoken conversation with RECON-nect. This feature uses your device’s microphone, and we ask for your permission before it is used for the first time.
The microphone is active only during a voice call that you start, and it stops when the call ends. We do not listen in the background, and we do not record you outside of a call.
A call keeps running when you switch to another app or lock your screen, so the conversation is not cut off mid-sentence. While a call continues this way, your device shows an ongoing indicator, and on Android a persistent notification, so it is always clear when the microphone is in use. Ending the call stops the microphone immediately.
During a call, your audio is streamed in real time to the providers described below so the assistant can understand you and reply. A written transcript of the conversation is saved to your chat history so you can return to it later, and is retained and deleted as described under Data Retention and Security.
You can turn this feature off at any time by declining or revoking the microphone permission in your device settings. The rest of the App, including text chat, continues to work without it.
We use your information to improve our services, communicate with you, and ensure the security of our platform.
We use your personal information to provide and maintain the App and Site, manage user accounts, process requests, and deliver the features you expect.
Usage data, device data, and location data (if granted) help us refine our App’s functionality, enhance user experiences, and introduce relevant new features.
We may use your email or other contact information to send you service-related updates, respond to support queries, or provide important notices about your account or changes to our services.
We may use or disclose your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or government requests; to enforce our Terms of Service; to detect or prevent security incidents; or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of RECON-nect, our users, or the public.
We will never sell or rent your data, and we never share it with advertisers. The only parties we share it with are the service providers described below, who process it on our behalf so the App can work.
We may engage trusted contractors or service providers who sign confidentiality agreements to help us operate, maintain, and improve our App and Site (e.g., hosting, analytics, or artificial intelligence services). These parties have access to personal data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are prohibited from disclosing or using it for any other purpose.
The audio of a voice call travels from your device to servers we operate ourselves. To generate the assistant’s responses, we share your messages and your call audio with the artificial intelligence services that power the assistant, currently OpenAI and Google. These providers process this content on our behalf to deliver the feature, and are not permitted to use it to train their own models or for any other purpose.
We may disclose your personal information if required by law or in response to a valid legal process, such as a subpoena, court order, or government request.
We retain your personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:
When you delete your account or request data deletion, we complete the deletion or anonymization of your personal data within 30 days of verifying your request, except where the law requires us to retain specific records.
We employ appropriate administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure; therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You have the right to access, update, or delete your information. To do so, please contact us directly or request data deletion.
